The DEM was processed within the SPIRIT project
(Korona et al., 2009). It covers the entire drainage basin of the Astrolabe glacier (see the total coverage of the DEM on the right image below).
However the studied area of the project only covers the coastal part of the glacier as depicted on the webmap, and on the left image below.
It also corresponds to the area where the optical contrast is the best, therefore allowing for a vertical resolution down to 3 meters
in the final DEM. For more information, see Le Meur et al., 2013.
